Professional Development Hour (PDH) Requirements

Nevada engineers are required to obtain 30 PDH biennially. The deadline is January 1 or July 1, depending on your last name (see chart below).

The Board does not approved continuing education providers or courses. The Board lists a number of acceptable continuing education activities, including correspondence courses. The Board requires courses to cover material that is technical, ethical, or managerial in nature and the activity pertains to the practice of engineering.

There is no limit to the number of hours that can be completed through online courses. A maximum of 15 PDH may be carried forward into the next renewal period.

July 1 of even-numbered years for licensees whose last name begins with one of the letters S through Z.

Course Approval The Board does not pre-approve providers or specific courses.
Course Content Courses must be “of an engineering content which relates to the registrant’s field of practice”.
Online/Correspondence There is no limit on the number of hours that can be earned through online or correspondence courses
