Professional Development Hour (PDH) Requirements

Nebraska engineers must complete 30 actual hours of engineering-related learning every biennial period. At least 1 hour must be directly related to ethical issues of a licensee’s professional practice.

The Nebraska Board specifies that “One actual hour of learning means at least fifty minutes spent in verifiable educational pursuit. 0.1 CEU = 1 PDH/PDU = 1 actual hour.”

Board Rule 9.3 “Restrictions” limits the number of hours that may be earned via self-directed distance education to 25% of the total requirement, or 7.5 hours per biennial period. A maximum of 15 PDH may be carried forward into the next renewal period.
