COVID-19 UPDATE
On May 14, 2020 the Oregon BCD extended the renewal deadline for licenses that were due to renew between April 1, 2020 and December 1, 2020. The renewal date has been extended to January 15, 2021. This extension is in response to the ongoing and anticipated continuing difficulties that license holders are facing due to Covid-19.To verify that your license type is eligible for the renewal extension, please visit the Oregon Building Codes Division website.

The following is a list of all approved online courses in Oregon. These courses are very similar to the home study courses. However, the test questions and answers are randomized for each exam. Click here if you are looking for home study courses.

How does these courses work?

  1. Click on the “Start Your Course” button above to begin your course immediately. You can stop and save the course at any time. Just come back to this page and click on the “Resume a Saved Course” button to log back into your course. You can complete the entire course without purchasing it. You must obtain a 70% or greater to pass the course.
  2. When you have passed the course, click on the BUY NOW button above. After you purchase the course, we will email you your certificate of completion. If you purchase after 2pm CST, we will email your certificate the next business day. (NOTE: If you complete more than one course, be sure to purchase the package in order to receive the discount.)

Oregon Electrical Continuing Education Information:

If you are a General Supervising Electrician (S), a Limited Supervising Electrician (PS), or a General Journeyman Electrician (J) you need 24 hours of continuing education. At least 8 hours must be in NEC code change and 4 must be on the Oregon Rule and Law Course. Our 24 hour continuing education course package will cover all of your hours. If you hold another type of electrical license, our courses will also satisfy all of your continuing education needs. Do you report my hours to the Oregon Building Codes Division
Yes, we report all continuing education results to the state on a daily basis.

Do you provide me with a certificate of completion when I finish the course?
Yes. Once you complete and pass the continuing education course we will email you a certificate of completion of the class. We will email the certificate no later than the next business day after you complete the course.

Can I take the courses on my phone?
Yes. Our Oregon continuing education courses are mobile compatible.

Do I pay for the courses before or after I take them?
Our Oregon courses are designed so that you can take them first and pay only after you pass. If you begin a course and decide it isn’t for you, there is no obligation to pay.

Do offer any continuing education training that is not online or correspondence?
We only offer online and correspondence continuing education courses in Oregon. We do not offer any classroom continuing education courses in Oregon. We find that most students prefer to complete their courses on their computer, smartphone or tablet.
